Extractions
If a tooth has been severely decayed or fractured, is abscessed and will not be cured by root canal therapy, and is determined to be non-restorable, then it will likely need to be extracted. Extractions remove the entire crown and root of a tooth out of the supporting bone.
Wisdom Teeth Extraction
In most cases, inadequate space in the mouth does not allow the wisdom teeth to erupt properly and become fully functional. When this happens, the tooth can become impacted (trapped) in an undesirable or potentially harmful position. If left untreated, impacted wisdom teeth can contribute to infection, damage to other teeth, and possibly cysts or tumors. As with any dental procedure, your dentist at Sandalwood Dental Care will complete a thorough examination of your wisdom teeth and surrounding teeth to ensure the proper recommendation of treatment.
