Good habits start early!
At Sandalwood Dental Care, we believe that daily brushing and flossing habits are important to establish early on in a child’s daily routine. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists (AAPD) states that early childhood caries (cavities) is the number one chronic disease among children. For this reason, it is important to get your child to the dentist early and continue regular and routine dental check-ups. The AAPD recommends that a child first see a dentist when the first tooth appears or before his/her first birthday.
At Sandalwood Dental Care, we provide preventive and restorative dental care to children of all ages. We offer cleanings, fluoride treatment, sealants, fillings, stainless steel crowns (caps), pulpal therapy, extractions, and other
services to address your child’s dental needs. Our doctors can also make recommendations to parents about at-home care and important topics such as orthodontic referrals and wisdom teeth extraction.
The doctors at Sandalwood Dental Care understand that children can experience anxiety and fear when visiting the dentist. Most dental fear is due to fear of the unknown (what is going to happen during the appointment). To reduce or eliminate dental fear, our doctors use a “show and tell” approach prior to treatment.
This approach ensures the patient understands what is happening during each step of his or her dental appointment. Our commitment is to create a fun and safe environment when providing treatment to ensure the oral health of your child. We want each child to leave every dental appointment with a positive experience and a smile on his/her face!
